I am a self-taught queer painter who explores the modern LGBTQ+ experience through narrative figurative art. Inspired by mythology, literature, and art history, I reclaim classical tropes to tell stories of contemporary identity, resilience, and vulnerability. Central to my practice is the unashamed representation of the male nude. However, I actively contradict the rigid societal norms that dictate the male body must only symbolise power, dominance, or muscular civic virtue. Instead, my paintings subvert this historical lens to offer an alternative queer aesthetic. They investigate the profound duality between our public, guarded personas and our authentic internal selves. Ultimately, my work is a study in acceptance—capturing a gentle, down-to-earth love and a reflective vulnerability that insists on being seen, celebrated, and preserved in oil.
