Oil on canvas
42 x 60 cm

My practice centres on using the process of painting to scrutinise photographs drawn from my own archive, exploring connections between images made at different periods of my life, and questioning memory.
I am drawn to ordinary places and details that are often overlooked, particularly things that are beginning or ending: new growth and decay, temporary structures, building sites and overgrown, unused spaces slowly being reclaimed by nature; subjects that sit on the margins of attention, yet seem to carry traces of the lives that have passed through them.
