Henny Burnett - Pink House

£2,800.00

Cast dental plaster & clod of earth
32 x 17 cm
2026

I am a mixed media artist working mainly in sculpture and installation, focusing on the domestic and everyday. Collecting, collating, documenting and methods of presentation are key elements in my work, as is repetition. I am interested in the dynamics of opposites: domestic and industrial, beautiful and ugly, useful and useless, temporary or permanent. The work is often concerned with precariousness and fragility, which informs my choice of materials and is reflected in the use of layering, suspending and stacking techniques. ‘Pink House’ teeters on a clod of earth and the shape of the cast house echoes Monopoly board pieces, emphasising ideas of profit, gambling, and winners and losers inherent to that game. It is rooted in the fabric of the home yet presented within a historical context, and considers our impact on the environment through a domestic lens.
