Oil on Dibond
15 x 15 cm
2025
My oil paintings reflect my fascination with urban life and the constant movement of people hurrying through space. The characters are metropolitan and contemporary. Despite the absence of surroundings in some of the paintings they lie within our understanding of contemporary cities, as the figures move from picture to picture to and from in an ever crossing field.
Miniature paintings play a significant role in my work.
Galleries: Selected Works is a grid of 220 miniature paintings on aluminium, each just 6x6 cm. The paintings portray people looking at art; the small scale of each painting draws you in, to observe the relationship represented between the viewer and the artwork in the painting. The familiarity of many of the artworks invites you to identify the artists, all of whom are female, from centuries past to current times.
