Bella Easton - Echo Chamber & the Seeds of The Narcissi Peepshow

£5,000.00

Hand coloured copperplate etching on Japanese paper, conservation board within a LED lit bespoke painted plywood box
40 x 34 cm
2026

My practice, built upon the modernist grid, explores memory, perception and psychological space through a hybridisation of painting, print, drawing and constructed form. I am interested in where one process becomes difficult to distinguish from another, allowing each to interrupt and transform the next. The works submitted form part of my ongoing Echo Chamber & The Seeds of the Narcissi series. The intercut woodcuts derive from an earlier site-specific installation, distilling its larger visual field into intimate, self-contained images through printing, hand-colouring, cutting and reconstruction. In the illuminated Peepshow, this language extends into three-dimensional space. A soft-ground drawing made directly onto copperplate is repeatedly printed, cut, layered and suspended within a lit box. Viewed intimately through a small aperture, etched lines, openings and reflected light dissolve distinctions between drawing, print and object. Repetition, mirroring, difference, transformation and the handmade remain central to both the making and experience of the work.
